Tizard Mission - 75th Anniversary Commemoration

Tuesday, November 17, 2015 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Seventy-five years ago, a group of British Officers and scientists led by Sir Henry Tizard secretly traveled to the United States and Canada during the darkest days of World War II to begin what would become an unparalleled collaboration in science and technology. Affecting the development of everything from jet engines to proximity fuses to radar and a host of other technologies, the Tizard Mission helped create a transatlantic partnership that continues to this day.

The Chief of Naval Research invites the public to an event hosted by the Office of Naval Research and the Embassy of Canada in Washington commemorating the 75th anniversary of this important milestone in transatlantic science and technology collaboration.
