Monday, October 14, 2013 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Ribbon of Hope
Betty Ford's openness and candor about her breast cancer fostered public discussion. Help us and our honorary host committee continue her legacy in a free event featuring frank conversations (and some fun). Spectrum Health experts in cancer genetics, breast imaging and surgical oncology will share information and answer your questions. View the complete agenda.
REGISTRATION UPDATE: We have reached capacity for this event, but are able to accept additional registrations on a limited basis. Please call Spectrum Health Community Engagement at 616.486.5739 if you'd like to attend.
Ribbon of Hope
Following the seminar, we invite you to be part of our Ribbon of Hope, a special community event on the lawn of Ah-Nab-Awen Park (in front of Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum). An aeriel photograph will showcase thousands of supporters raising our umbrellas in a symbol of hope for everyone who has been touched by breast cancer. The first 5,000 people to register will receive a free umbrella.
- 5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.: Arrive and registrants receive an umbrella
- 5:30 p.m. to 6 p.m: Welcome and aerial photograph
Parking is available at DeVos Place and nearby city lots and Ellis lots, daily rates will apply. Please note that due to the government shutdown, the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum’s parking lots are closed.
True to Betty Ford’s legacy, the mission of Betty Ford Breast Care Services remains focused on awareness and early detection. Help support that tradition by giving to a Betty Ford Breast Care Services fund set aside specifically to provide mammograms to underserved women in our community.
