Overview: The Stanford University SoMCC Career Path Explorations (CPE) Internship Program is a unique opportunity being piloted for PhD students in the Biosciences. It is a way for students to gain meaningful and practical work experience in a broad range of areas where scientific expertise makes significant impacts and contributions to research, business, policy, stewardship and more. The Career Path Explorations (CPE) Internship Preparation Workshop will offer:
  • guidance to doctoral students on finding future internships
  • advice on how to talk to your PI
  • tips on how to market yourself to employers
  • expectations for students with current summer opportunities
  • introduction of our upcoming internship program pilot
  • open forum for students to share feedback on defining parameters of success within one’s internship
This session is recommended for anyone who is interested in an opportunity this summer or beyond.
Competitive academic training and research programs offer myriad opportunities for professional growth, interpersonal skill development, communication, and relationship-building, all critical investments toward exploration of career choices in the biosciences.
