The Society of Physician Entrepreneurs (SoPE) is a global biomedical and healthcare innovation network----founded by three physicians in early 2011, SoPE is a non-profit member organization with a separate supporting tax exempt Foundation. Membership is open to both medical professionals and other stakeholders in healthcare.
SoPE is making a better world through improved healthcare----the vision, mission, and activities of the Society are ultimately about the benefit to the general public of healthcare improvements; better treatment, greater and faster access, and lower costs. The Society’s global healthcare and biomedical innovation network has potential benefits beyond better patient care—the Society’s efforts help launch new businesses; characterized by job creation and increased global competitiveness.
The mission of the SoPE SF Bay Area chapter is to provide a platform for doctors and life science investors in the San Francisco-Peninsula area to transform ideas, develop integrated business models to the global market, and accelerate biomedical and healthcare innovation. This inaugural meeting of the SF Bay Area chapter is an informational and networking session, at which time a quarterly schedule of events for the 2013 calendar will also be presented by chapter lead, Dr. Daniel Kraft. Dr. Kraft is a Stanford and Harvard trained physician-scientist with over 20 years of experience in clinical practice, biomedical research and innovation. Daniel chairs the Medicine track for Singularity University and is Executive Director and curator for the FutureMed program, which explores convergent, exponential technologies across healthcare. Light appetizers and beverages will be served.
