The Advanced Post Production Techniques (PT310P) course focuses on the advanced operation of Pro Tools in a professional post production environment. It includes technical insights into both the Pro Tools|HD hardware and software.

This course prepares candidates for the Avid Certified Expert: Pro Tools | Post certification exam. Candidates for this exam must already have been certified as an Avid Certified User: Pro Tools | Software and Avid Certified Operator: Pro Tools | Post.


This course is designed for Avid Certified Instructors with intermediate Pro Tools post-production skills that want to gain the highest level of technical and operational Pro Tools knowledge.


Completion of the following courses or equivalent experience:



At the end of this course you will be able to:

  • Configure Pro Tools|HD systems for Post Audio
  • Troubleshoot a Pro Tools|HD system in a Post environment
  • Synchronize Pro Tools|HD with Linear Video
  • Efficiently control Pro Tools through key command shortcuts
  • Execute Post production recording techniques using an Avid PRE
  • Execute Editing workflows
  • Design sound effects using plug-ins
  • Implement advanced routing and mixing techniques
  • Use fundamental mixing architectures & techniques in post production
  • Mix with Satellite Link
  • Use advanced output and layback techniques
  • Be ready to sit the Avid Certified Expert: Pro Tools | Post certification exam
