Mercy Springfield Communities Non-Clinical Student Experience Registration

Thank you for your interest in a non-clinical idependent learning or shadowing experience at Mercy!

Please note: All applicants must be at least 18 years old or a senior in high school.  Mercy Hospital Springfield does not assign sponsors/preceptors for non-clinical experiences.  Students are responsible for obtaining their own sponsor/preceptor prior to completing this application.  Application processing time is 3-4 weeks.  Applications are not processed until ALL required documents are submitted.

To apply for a non-clinical student experience:
1. Complete this online registration form and submit payment
2. Download the Individualized Learning Experience Packet (located in the green box on the right side of this screen)
3. Electronically submit the completed packet, photo ID and all required immunizations to Karen.Kyle@Mercy.net
4. Print the receipt that will be automatically emailed to you upon payment and take it to Mercy's Co-Worker Health Services (located on the lower level of Mercy Hospital Springfield) to complete your urine drug screening test.
5. Application processing time is 3-4 weeks after submitting all required documents and immunizations.  Once your application has been processed, you will receive directions via email showing you how to complete a mandatory online orientation. 
6.  When all requirements are met and orientation is complete, you will be notified by e-mail to come to the Talent Development & Optimization Department to get a name badge that must be worn during your experience. The start and end date for your experience must be firm prior to your badge being prepared.  All students are required to wear a name badge while on Mercy campus.

Please note:The approval process will take approximately three-four weeks. Hours: Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:30pm
  • Enter through Mercy's Main Entrance
  • Take South Elevator to 4th floor (4J)
  • Go through glass walkway
  • Turn right at first hallway
  • You will see a glassed-in reception area at the end of the hallway where someone will assist you

Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:00pm
  • Enter through the Main Entrance
  • Take South Elevator to Lower Level
  • Follow the signs to Co-Worker Health
