Managing Meltdowns

Tuesday, October 12, 2021 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, In-Person

This Parent Education Workshop if offered through Parent Connection, a program of Family Services of NEW.  www.familyservicesnew.org/parent-connection

Managing Meltdowns

Of all the behavioral problems parents face from their children, meltdowns may be the most upsetting as well as the hardest to manage.  Also called tantrums, these outbursts may be the most potent tool kids have when it comes to training their parents to do what the children want.  Moms and dads who have learned to fear tantrums have an extremely difficult time maintaining control of their own homes.  This workshop will help parents regain control.  We will discuss: The three main causes of tantrums, the two goals of tantruming children, and a four-step process for meltdown management.
