Beyond Carrots - Eating to Improve Eye and Whole Body Health

Monday, March 2, 2026 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM  (EST)

Join Dr. Chad Jackson, one of two optometrists in the country board certified in Lifestyle Medicine, and Corewell Health's Culinary Medicine Registered Dietitian and Chef for a unique, hands-on cooking class. In this class you’ll learn how plant-forward and whole food recipes can protect your eyes and support your overall health. You’ll team up to prepare delicious, eye-healthy recipes. The evening ends with a shared meal (and complimentary wine) and conversation about the powerful health benefits on your plate—and how to bring these recipes to your home kitchen.

During class, you will be cooking at a shared cooking station with others. If you have a station partner request, please email samantha.sherman@corewellhealth.org to notify her of your request. We will do our best to accommodate requests but cannot guarantee.

Wine will be provided as part of the class cost. You are not allowed to bring in your own alcohol.

Location: The Teaching Kitchen is located on the 2nd floor of the Grand Rapids Downtown Market (435 Ionia Ave SW, Grand Rapids, MI 49503)

The cost of the class is $70 per person. If you would like to attend with a group, you must register each participant separately. All sales are final. No refunds, cancellations, or exchanges.
