Mercy Medical Explorers Registration Spring 2026
Monday, January 12, 2026 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM, Payment Needs
Mercy - Springfield Medical Explorer Post #339 is a youth healthcare career exploration program jointly sponsored by Mercy Hospital Springfield and the Scouting America. Medical Explorers aims to provide worksite-based experiences for students ages 14 through 20. Within shadowing observations, clinical speakers, and hands-on activities, students expand their knowledge through various patient populations, specialties, and experiences throughout Mercy Springfield. Cohorts will take place during the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.
Explorer candidates applying for the Spring 2026 session must attend the mandatory orientation/business meeting on January 12, 2026 at 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Mercy Hospital Springfield in the Hammons Heart Institute Auditorium. Candidates must submit their completed copies of the Mercy Medical Explorer Application AND the Youth Application (to SPRGMedicalExplorers@mercy.net) prior to orientation. Yearly dues must also be paid prior to orientation using this online registration site. Registration fees may be paid online by credit/debit card only. We are unable to accept cash or check payments.

Spring 2026 Monthly Meeting Dates: (Must be in attendance to sign up for independent shadowing rotations).
Mercy Medical Explorers are required to attend orientation and monthly meetings, which are held on the second Monday of every month (5:30p-7:30p). Meetings are to supply additional information to explorers through presentations and hands-on learning from Mercy co-workers. All meetings will occur in the Hammons Heart Auditorium with only one excused absence allowed for monthly meetings. Additionally, students will choose a clinical pathway and complete individualized shadows that align with their personal schedule.
