Nurturing Parenting TM offers many evidence-based, positive parenting curriculums which provide instruction in a series of lessons focused on: developing appropriate expectations of children, responding with empathy, disciplining with dignity, supportive family roles and self-awareness, and increasing empowerment and independence.  This programming works well for all kinds of families: 2-parent, single parent, pre-natal, foster, adoptive, and blended or step-families who want to get along better, communicate more efficiently and establish closer, more nurturing bonds with one another.  Nurturing Parenting TM helps adult or adolescent participants identify areas in their parenting that can be strengthened through taking an Adult-Adolescent Parenting Inventory 2.1 (AAPI2).  It also re-assesses for parenting growth in the program on the 5 key parenting constructs that demonstrate levels of nurturing.

Our class “Parenting the Nurturing Way”:
  • uses a Nurturing Parenting TM curriculum which is an evidence-based, positive parenting curriculum for adult and adolescent parents of children prenatal-19;
  • meets for 11 consecutive weeks, participants should plan to attend all sessions;
  • does have confidentiality and respectful conduct standards everyone must follow;
  • provides a printed Parent Handbook with the $20 fee to those individually registered for the adult/adolescent parenting group. (If registering a second parent as a guest, you will both share one Parent Handbook.  Scholarships may be requested via email to waive the class fee. Do not register online if you will be requesting a scholarship.);
  • when in-person, provides an Adult/Adolescent Parent Group, Kids Activity Group, and on-site Childcare which must be pre-registered for;
  • when in-person and allowable by safety protocols, provides a Kids Activity Group for ages 4-12 for those pre-registered (to a max of 8-10 kids, depends upon ages) and will have learning topics that mirror the Parent Group;
  • when in-person and allowable by safety protocols, provides on-site Childcare for children pre-registered who are not yet potty trained (to a max of 8-10 children, depends upon ages); and
  • when in-person and allowable by safety protocols, offers a free, group meal served from 5:30 - 6:00 pm, participants must be registered and attending the classes to attend the meal.
Please be aware that COVID-19 safety protocols must be followed during any of our in-person workshops.  You and anyone attending must follow the specific location and host protocols which could change based upon Health and Safety Guidelines needed at the time of the workshop.  For this in-person workshop, protocols currently include: pre-screening for symptoms and exposure, use of hand washing or hand sanitizer upon building entry, masking of all vaccinated and unvaccinated ages 5 and up, adults physical distancing from other family groups, and restrictions on how and what food/beverages may be served/consumed.  If public gathering restrictions are put back into place during the run of this class it could be canceled or we would only be able to provide an online adult/parent class.

For now, all our planned in-person groups (Adult/Adolescent Parent Group, Kids Activity Group and Childcare) are open until their registration deadlines or until their max enrollment is reached!  You will be notified later if your pre-registration of children for the Kids Activity Group or onsite Childcare cannot be met.  Our online registration will prompt you to pre-register any other adult parent coming (and not separately registering) as a guest by providing their name, phone number and email address.  You will also be prompted to pre-register the number of children and their ages you want enrolled in the Kids Activity Group or on-site Childcare. Please also indicate in the comments if your pre-registered family members plan to participate in any or all of the group meals (if offered).
