Working with LGBTQ Adults

This workshop will offer a broad overview of best practices for effectively working with LGBTQ adults throughout the lifespan. Participants will learn the difference between sexual orientation and gender identity, review the concept of intersectionality, and explore relevant historical touchpoints for the LGBTQ community. The training will review social, legal, and medical options for gender affirming care. Clinical considerations including the Minority Stress Model, LGBTQ Affirming Therapy guidelines, and culturally responsive couples and family counseling will be reviewed.

The fee for this training is $43, which includes 3 continuing education hours.
