Effectively Working With & Advocating for LGBTQ Youth CTLE

Learning Objectives of the Course/Educational Activity:

  1. Participants will be able to describe the developmental models used in the assessment of LGBTQ youth
  2. Participants will be able to recognize  and use terms and language important to respecting individuals in the LGBTQ community
  3. Participants will be able to understand the difference between sexual orientation and gender identity
  4. Participants will be able to understand the process of coming out and be able to identify barriers faced by their clients regarding this process.
  5. Participants will be able to identify best practices in working with and for LGBTQ youth
  6. Participants will be able to appropriately advocate for LGBTQ youth
  7. Participants will learn and be able to create safe, inclusive spaces for LGBTQ youth
  8. Participants will learn and understand intersectionality in respect to LGBTQ youth

Registration fee is $65, which includes 6 CTLE Credit Hours.
