AGENDA-AT-A-GLANCE:

What it is:  The forum is designed to assist ONR in developing the scientific foundation and advanced technologies in the area of warfighter performance. It will support programmatic decision-making by bringing together researchers and DoD/DON stakeholders to exchange ideas and discuss research directions and challenges

How it works:  The Office of Naval Research (ONR) leadership and decision makers will deliver updates on operational issues, S&T challenges and ongoing efforts in the area of Warfighter Perfomance.  Attendees can participate in brief one-on-one sessions with ONR program managers, which can be requested during registration, to discuss new ideas and innovations and general sessions.
 
5 November 2014 (Wednesday)
0800-0900: Registration/coffee social with ONR leadership
0900-0915: Welcome by the Chief of Naval Research
0915-0930: Strategic overview of Warfighter Performance S&T portfolio
0930-0945: Overview: Warrior Resilience programs, challenges and opportunities
0945-1045: Panel Discussion: the practitioner perspective on resilience S&T
1045-1100: Break
1100-1200: Panel Discussion: the program level perspective on resilience S&T
1200-1330: Lunch (and poster session, videos, demos etc.)
1330-1340: Introduction of afternoon session
1340-1400: Fleet integrated synthetic training and experimentation
1400-1410: Live, virtual and constructive training
1410-1450: Panel Discussion: synthetic training
1450-1510: Mission planning
1510-1545: Open discussion with all participants
1545-1600: Q&A with the Chief Naval Research
*Attendees can request, appointments with ONR program managers (during online registration) to discuss new ideas and innovations at a date/time to be determined after the event. Participants can also request to present during the open poster session at the morning coffee social and lunchtime information exchange. Approval notification of all requests will be sent Monday, 27 October.
 
BUILDING SECURITY:
  • Upon arrival, check in with registration
  • Photo identification is required
  • All laptops are logged (serial # recorded). Have the number ready
  • Allow plenty of time to complete this process
     
  • Federal government employees and/or military personnel displaying a valid CAC card above the waist are admitted as UNESCORTED guests
  • Contractors and other US visitors including foreign nationals with permanent US residency (bring your green card) require an ESCORT.
  • All Non-Government, Non-ONR Contractors and other US visitors will be given an "Escort Required" badge necessitating that the visitor be personally escorted the entire time s/he is with OLC.
TRAVEL INFORMATION:
Individuals are responsible for their own travel arrangements and payment methods.

  • Individuals are responsible for their own reservation and payment methods
  • Washington, DC metro area maximum lodging per diem is $177 for the month of November

FOOD AND BEVERAGE:

  • Food and beverage service is on your own. Individuals are responsible for their own meals and incidentals. Per diem in Arlington, VA is $71.
  • Lunch is being catered by COSI and must be ordered in advance, no later than Friday, 31 October. We are unable to accept orders the day of the event.
  • Please return the attached order form DIRECTLY to COSI via Fax: (703-527-9565). Emailed orders will not be accepted. The fax is a dedicated machine in which payments can be accepted.
  • Boxed lunches are $17 tax inclusive.
