ONR Focus Area Forum: Power & Energy

Office of Naval Research (ONR) invites you to attend the Focus Area Forum.  This forum will address Power and Energy (P&E).

What it is:  The objective of the Focus Area Forum is to communicate the Navy's overall Science and Technology (S&T) P&E portfolio, identify key challenges & opportunities for the future, and engage with industry/academia on the future P&E challenge for Navy surface combatants. 

How it works:  ONR and senior Navy/USMC leadership will deliver their perspectives on a range of P&E topics, and solicit feedback/questions from forum participants.  Participants can request a poster board display that will be open to the conference attendees to visit during the lunch break information exchange.

In the weeks following the meeting attendees will be given an opportunity to  meet with an ONR program officer to follow up on topics discussed during the Forum.  These appointments can be requested during registration below.  They will be made at the discretion of ONR based on relevance to the subject matter.

  • Orders must be placed no later than 48 hours prior to delivery.  No orders will be accepted after that time or on the day of the meeting. Credit cards will not be charged until the day of delivery.  Funds will be pre-authorized 48 hours prior to delivery.
  • The total price is $17 inclusive of taxes and gratuities.
  • Individuals are responsible for payment of their own meals and incidentals.
     

REGISTRATION INFORMATION
Information presented will be at DoD Distribution D level -The forum is unclassified and open to qualified government, industry and academia personnel.

  • Registrants must be current DoD military or civilian, or certified DoD contractors (see requirement below to identify registrant active DoD contract).
  • Registrants must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident.
  • Media is not authorized to attend this event.
  • Registration is REQUIRED for all attendees. Walk in registrations will NOT be accepted.
  • Space is limited; restrictions may be placed on multiple registration requests from the same organization.
  • After completing the registration form, you will receive a registration notification.  Your registration must be approved to attend.  A final confirmation message will be sent via email.
  • Registration closes on 14 October at 1200 EST and/or when capacity is reached.
  • Final Confirmation and poster selections will be sent on 15 October 2015.
BUILDING ACCESS and SECURITY INFORMATION
Upon arrival, visitors must check in at the registration desk in the lobby.  US federal government employees and/or military personnel displaying a valid CAC card or DoD building pass will be  admitted as UNESCORTED guests.  All other attendees, including  US  contractors will require an ESCORT.  Photo identification will be verified and exchanged for a building badge upon check-in.  
 
  • Any laptop computers  must be registered at check-in, so please have the model & serial number ready and allow for extra time to complete the check-in.
  • With the high volume of attendees for this event, please allow plenty of time to complete this process to enter ONR HQ.
  • You will then proceed to the metal detector and then will be escorted to the meeting location.
