Working with Clients who have Sensory Processing Challenges

This course will review the concept of “Sensory Processing” and related challenges that clients may face when navigating everyday life activities. The training will review common sensory processing challenges for clients, particularly clients who have a developmental disability. The difference between a sensory meltdown versus a temper tantrum will be reviewed. Participants will explore the importance of stimming for managing sensory input, processing, and output. Methods for creating a more sensory-friendly environment for clients, as well as helping clients build skills to manage sensory stressors and  challenges will be discussed.

The fee for this training is $43, which includes 3 continuing education hours.
