ABSTRACT INFORMATION: DEADLINE FRIDAY, JANUARY 10, 2020
ShipTech 2020 is accepting abstracts on innovative systems, processes, and technologies that improve U.S. shipbuilding and repair processes, reduce total ownership cost, and accelerate the delivery of capabilities to the warfighter. Government, industry, and academia are encouraged to participate. Abstracts should not exceed 500 words in length. Submitted abstracts will be evaluated based on clarity and value added to the conference. Suggested topic areas are listed below, but not limited to these areas:

- Advanced Radar and Electronic Warfare For Ships
- Business Processes
- Combat Systems
- Electrical Technologies
- High Energy Laser Weapon Systems
- Innovative Technologies

- Model Based Enterprise, including Tools to Connect the Digital Enterprise via Digital Thread and Digital Twin Power and Propulsion

ABSTRACTS MUST BE UNCLASSIFIED, PUBLICLY RELEASABLE, AND NON-PROPRIETARY
SUBMIT YOUR ABSTRACTS
ShipTech is soliciting abstracts on topics that might be controlled by U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and cannot be presented in open forums.
All abstracts must be unrestricted and approved for public release.
Final presentations given at the conference may be ITAR-restricted and marked either:
- Distribution Statement C: Distribution authorized to U.S. Government Agencies and their contractors. (reason) (date of determination). Other request for this document shall be referred to (controlling DoD office)
- Distribution Statement A: Approved for public release; distribution is unlimited.

Abstract Submission January 10, 2020
Abstract Notification for Acceptance/Denial February 3, 2020
Presentation Due to ONR March 19, 2020
Before submitting an abstract, please ensure that your management has approved your participation in the conference, including travel costs.
Note that no registration fee is associated with ShipTech. Additionally, all attendees who are not military or federal government employees must provide an active DD2345 Joint Certification Program number, which establishes eligibility to receive Unclassified Militarily Critical Technical Data.
If your abstract is selected for presentation at ShipTech 2020, you will be requested to submit presentation materials to the Office of Naval Research (ONR) in electronic format no later than
March 19, 2020. Upon acceptance of your abstract, specific instructions for technical preparation will be provided.
Only one author can be identified as the presenter and make the presentation at ShipTech.
What is required if your presentation is selected?
- Biography of author(s); biographies should not exceed 100 words.
- Presentation to load onto session computers.
- Presentation for inclusion in proceedings.
- Presentations should not exceed 30 minutes (including Q&A time).
- Presentations that are accepted must participate at the time scheduled by the planning committee.
Each technical session room will be equipped with the following audio-visual devices:
- LCD projector
- Computer with PowerPoint installed
- Projection screen
- Microphone
Abstract Information
- Presenter information will be used for notification of acceptance and non-acceptance of this abstract.
- Abstracts and Astract Titles must be unclassified, public releasable, and non-proprietary.
- Abstracts should not exceed 500 words.
- Abstracts should include a concise description of the content, conclusions, and significance of the proposed presentation. If the submitter has presented similar information at previous conferences, then the abstract should clearly state the new results or information that will be presented. Submitted abstracts will be reviewed based upon the information provided.
- By submitting your abstract, you are agreeing to the terms listed in "Submission Agreement" below.
Submission Agreement: I agree that the "Abstract" and "Abstract Title" described above have been approved for public release by the governing public affairs office / approval authority. I understand that if selected, the "Abstract," "Abstract Title," author name, and author organization name will be publicized via a publicly accessible web site.
Because ShipTech 2020 is not an open conference, I also agree that if my abstract is selected, I will abide by all registration procedures, which include providing an active DD2345 Joint Certification Program number, which establishes my eligibility to receive Unclassified Military Critical Technical Data governed by Department of Defense (DoD) Directive 5230.25 and the Canadian Technical Data Control Regulations.
