SafeTALK 5.6.20

Wednesday, May 6, 2020 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

safeTALK is a basis awareness training that prepares participants to identify persons with thoughts of suicide and connect them to suicide first aid resources. Most people with thoughts of suicide invite help to stay safe. Alert helpers know how to use these opportunities to support that desire for safety.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Participants will be able to explain, understand, and move past the common tendencies to miss, dismiss or avoid suicide;
  2. Participants will be able to identify people who have thoughts of suicide;
  3. Participants will be able to apply the TALK steps (Tell, Ask, Listen and KeepSafe) to connect a person with suicide thoughts to a longer term interventionist.

Registration fee is $30; this fee is for 3 Continuing Education Hours.
