Houston Texans Cheerleader Tryouts Additional Information
Date: Saturday, April 21
8:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m.: Registration
10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.: Tryouts (Rounds 1 through 4)
Location: Methodist Training Facility
Requirements:
Must be 18 years of age by April 21, 2007 (no exceptions).
Must be a high school graduate or have a G.E.D.
Must have a full-time job or be a full-time student.
Current Photo (any size).
Bring valid ID.
Audition Attire:
Wear dance friendly shoes. Tennis shoes recommended.
Dance hot pants or briefs (no thongs)
Midriff top.
Rehearsals:
Three (3) rehearsals per week.
Cheerleaders participate in all Texans home games and Texans events.
Here are a couple of tips to help you prepare for tryouts:
- Enroll in an adult dance class or funk aerobics. You want to be able to pick up choreography and gain a sense of rhythm.
- Wear something dancer friendly. You want to make sure your outfit is comfortable and stays on you.
- Be prepared for a long day. Bring snacks and water.
- Bring an extra outfit just in case something happens OR if someone has your outfit on. (Yikes)
- Bring makeup and hair products to touch yourself up.
- Polaroid pictures are not kind. Be sure you look your best during this photo session. This is what we have to identify you.
- You also will be required to submit a photo. Make sure it is a good one.
There are 4 rounds the first weekend. Each round is a different style and difficulty level.
Finalists will go through an interview process.
Come to tryouts because you never know what can happen. About 60% of the current squad didn’t think they would make it. Some ladies had not cheered since middle or high school. But look at them now!
