2nd Annual Center for Definitive and Curative Medicine (CDCM) Symposium – Innovations in the Pipeline to Curative Medicines

Tuesday, February 27, 2018 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM
The newly-launched CDCM is a joint initiative of the Stanford University School of Medicine, Stanford Health Care and Stanford Children’s Health. The Center provides the organizational and physical infrastructure to support investigator-initiated clinical translational studies on stem cell and gene therapy from initial discovery through completion of clinical proof-of-concept studies. The CDCM is co-directed by Drs. Maria Grazia Roncarolo, Tony Oro, and Matt Porteus.

This scientific conference will bring together clinicians, basic scientists, patient advocates, translational investigators and biotech/pharmaceutical researchers. This year's keynote speakers are Dr. Michel Sadelain of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and co-found of Juno Therapeutics; and Dr. Kathy High, former HHMI Investigator from the University of Pennsylvania and now co-founder and President of Spark Therapeutics. Experts in the field in the field will cover the process of how discoveries in gene and cell therapy are translated to clinical trials and ultimately commercialized in the following four sessions:

1.  New Cell-Based-Medicine Discoveries
2.  Pre-Clinical Development of Curative Medicines
3.  Clinical Trials in Curative Medicines
4.  Challenges in Development and Commercialization of Curative Medicines
